About the Position

The Senior Business Systems Administrator will manage the technical and functional operation, maintenance and support of Zymeworks’ business systems. This role will have the opportunity to interact with systems utilized by a wide range of functional areas within the company.

This position will report to the Lead, Business Systems and will be based in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides technical administration, maintenance, and daily management of business systems.
  • Assesses, implements, and integrates technical requirements, system configuration, data integrity and all system-related policies and procedures.
  • Customizes business systems, as needed, to meet business needs, including development of custom reports, dashboards, and other functionality.
  • Trains users on business systems, provides support to users, maintains proper system access and supports end user technical requests.
  • Monitors and assesses regulatory compliance with IT general controls within the CFR 21 part 11, COSO and SOX frameworks as related to business systems.
  • Monitors end-user usage of systems, tracks performance, performs daily administrative and support tasks and maintains and dates system documentation.
  • Develops, documents and follows formal policies, procedures and protocols for changes, customization, standards and usage, consistent with Zymeworks’ IT controls environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or college diploma in information/business systems and a minimum of 7 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional technical certifications relating to business systems actively utilized by Zymeworks will also be required to be maintained.
  • Experience with core enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, DCM etc.
  • Knowledge of Database, Database Structure, SQL, Data Analytics and Data Migration (ETL).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into business solutions, either as a software solution or a re-engineering initiative.
  • Ability to mapping business process and creating new processes.
  • Clear understanding of Access Control Level (ACL) including best practices in access control.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirement for the industry, preferably ITGC, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO, COBIT framework, and SOC 1/SOC 2.
  • In depth understanding of cloud computing, SaaS and PaaS.
  • Exposure to scripting languages i.e. Javascript, JSON, C++, C# etc. (nice to have)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment. Results-oriented.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
