Summary

The Sr, Director, VSM – Full & Functional Service CRO, reporting to the E.D., Vendor Strategy Management will lead and oversee the activities pertaining to the maturation of the Full & Functional Service CRO categories across the development organization, This role requires broad knowledge of the full service and functional service activities, and vendors; organization, processes and procedures, and communication and structure, strategic thinking around key operational issues, while enabling effective planning and execution of the vendor strategy. The Sr. Director, VSM – Full and Functional Service CRO is both strategic and facilitative, in the enablement of the VSM organization directly aiding the E.D. Vendor Strategy Management in fulfilling departmental objectives and will ensure the initiatives are prioritized appropriately and prepare leadership for upcoming decisions.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and maintain organizational management cadence for business operation of Full & Functional Service CRO category and ongoing leadership
  • Direct the identification in collaboration with the VSM Category Directors prioritization and advancement of process, vendor partnerships and governance; monitor progress and communicate updates to internal and external teams and stakeholders alike
  • Collaborates across Seagen stakeholders and advisors to determine and prioritize business strategies and support key strategic programs and initiatives to ensure critical actions are being captured, tracked, and driven to closure
  • Build and sustain effective communications and strategy. Provide executive presentations with global stakeholders, and cross functional teams
  • Provide leadership to the VSM Full & Functional Service CRO category team with recommendations and consultation to determine key performance indicators and metrics for overall team performance
  • Drive change management for new processes across the development stakeholder landscape
  • Champion adherence to Seagen procurement policy and be an ambassador for domain needs with respect to applicable regulations and practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent project management skills – excelling in organization, discipline, and accountability
  • Proven verbal communication (both oral and written), with the ability to summarize information succinctly and adapt information to different communication styles in a global organization
  • At least 15 years of category area knowledge (Full and/or Functional Service CRO)/indirect and or outsourcing vendor management experience with increasing responsibility to the category level or above
  • At least 7 years leading transformational projects with divisional impact
  • At least 7 years in a management role with resource utilization, performance management. Issue management and resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in Life Sciences, Business Administration or Finance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters, PhD, PharmD, MBA in scientific or clinical field that is relevant to biotechnology, oncology and/or business administration
  • 10-15 years of pharmaceutical and/or biopharma experience
